How teacher pay is structured
Regular districts generally serve K–12, so elementary and high school teachers normally use the same district teacher pay framework rather than separate grade-level district schedules. Countywide districts generally collectively bargain compensation, including performance-based pay systems; there is no statewide step schedule. Florida funds increases toward a $47,500 minimum base salary or the maximum achievable with the allocation, so that figure should not be treated as an unconditional salary floor.

For prospective educators
You'd be a good fit if you want large countywide districts with many openings, a state push to raise starting pay, and no state income tax.
