How teacher pay is structured
Regular districts generally serve K–12, so elementary and high school teachers normally use the same district teacher pay framework rather than separate grade-level district schedules. County systems and Baltimore City generally collectively bargain one teacher pay framework across grades; the Blueprint requires a $60,000 starting salary by July 1, 2029, rather than establishing one statewide step schedule. The future deadline should not be read as a current universal $60,000 floor.

For prospective educators
You'd be a good fit if you want large countywide districts with bargained pay, a state push to raise teacher salaries, and access to major metro areas.
