How teacher pay is structured
Regular districts generally serve K–12, so elementary and high school teachers normally use the same district teacher pay framework rather than separate grade-level district schedules. Texas sets a statewide minimum salary schedule by credited years of service, but districts commonly adopt their own higher schedules and incentives; public-school teacher collective bargaining is prohibited.

For prospective educators
You'd be a good fit if you want a huge job market, a state minimum salary schedule that many districts exceed, and no state income tax.
