How teacher pay is structured
Regular districts generally serve K–12, so elementary and high school teachers normally use the same district teacher pay framework rather than separate grade-level district schedules. Division salary schedules are locally adopted, with no statewide teacher salary schedule or universal teacher-specific floor. Collective bargaining is available only where a local school board authorizes it, so some divisions bargain pay and others do not.

For prospective educators
You'd be a good fit if you want countywide and city divisions with local pay scales, and are open to Northern Virginia's higher pay and costs.
